Passover is the story of the Jewish exodus from Eg

Passover is the story of the Jewish exodus from Egypt. After hearing the cries of the enslaved Jews, God enlisted Moses to free the Jewish people. After God unleashed ten plagues upon Egypt, Pharaoh let the Jewish people go. However, Pharaoh gathered his armies and trapped the Jews at the Red Sea in hopes of re-enslaving them. Then, God split apart the Red Sea, allowing the Jews to cross. When Pharaoh tried to cross, God closed the Red Sea and drowned the Egyptians, marking the true beginning of Jewish freedom.

When fleeing from the Egyptians, the Jews didn’t have enough time to let the dough properly rise. As such, the unleavened dough was baked and called Matza. In observation of this, Jews don’t eat any leavened foods during Passover and eat Matza (flat, unleavened bread) instead.
